HP G7 Blade new Emulex be2net ESX(i) drivers 4.1.334.0 now supported
June 6th, 2012
VMware recently released a new Emulex be2net driver version 4.1.334.0 for both ESX(i) 4.x and ESXi 5.x for the Emulex OneConnect 10Gb Ethernet Controller which is used in HP G7 Blades.
These new drivers were not supported by HP when released but HP has now certified this driver and included it its new HP ESXi images.

I’ve updated my post: HP Virtual Connect Flex-10 & VMware ESX(i) pre-requisites
What remains confusing to me however is that the HCL still implies that there is no supported driver at all for the NC553i G7 LOMs:

Unfortunately VMware HCL is not up-to-date.
Please use the newly released “June 2012 VMware FW and Software Recipe” for recommended VMware drivers and firmware versions for all HP servers:

Since this was certified for HP Flex-10 solution, VMware updates HCL differently. You can find the updated info here:

This paper is even older, with no timestamp at all and according to that, we would still need to still run the old VC 3.18 and an older NIC Firmware.
It already listed “4.1.334.0” even long before this version was actually available.
And the HP software recipe list states the HP-side of things, it does not necessarily mean VMware supports that as well.
Is anyone having received dropped packets with HP Flex 10 and ESXi with these drivers?
We are constantly seeing our received dropped packet counter go up. We just installed the latest drivers/firmware combo last week and it made no difference. This was based of the HP Software recipe book we found linked on this site.
